1. Is my idea going to get stolen?

a. We will do our best to help you protect your idea; in the meantime you might want to read about the value of an idea.

2. Can you apply as a single person?

a. Yes you can apply but you stand a better chance by having a team of 2 or three to grow a business, this is good for continuity.

3. How big should our team be?

a. Most people would suggest a team of 2 or 3, you can grow your team later, but in the inception stage you want low cost and high output without allot of redtape

4. Do I have to be a computer expert, programmer or coder to apply?

a. No, we encourage other fields and industries to join, you can be a farmer, teacher or Matatu driver but if you want to develop a tech application for your industry you will need a programmer on your team as well.

5. Do you have to work at the NaiLab?

a. No, you don’t have to work from the NaiLab, as long as you are available every 4 weeks for the batch presentations.

6. Do you get a dedicated working space?

a. You can get a dedicated working space if you are a housemate, but we prefer if people mingle and grow, we have Fridays as an open day when the community is allowed to use the space for free

7. What are the conditions?

a. Make something people need, be focused, be flexible, have fun

8. How does NaiLab make its money?

a. We are funded by the 1% Club, we also have a solutions company that delivers high end applications to clients for a fee and this provides one arm of our sustainability program.

9. How long can we work from the NaiLab?

a. A housemate stays for 12 months, 18 months for readymade and 6 months for seedlings

10. What is the catch?

a. Psstt.. Making the world better place … don’t tell anyone.

11. We are an existing business do we qualify?

a. Yes, you can apply as a housemate, Read here about the terms for housemates.

12. Who owns NaiLab?

a. NaiLab Incubation is a company by guarantee, its has a board of director and an Incubation director

13. What is the relationship between NaiLab and Ihub?

a. Other than having a strategic locations we both gain allot from being in close proximity to each other, Ihub is an Open Hub space and NaiLab is a business incubator

14. Was the Location of NaiLab and Ihub a strategic decision?

a. No, it was a coincidence, and has worked out great for all.

15. Do you have membership structure like the Ihub?

a. No, we are an incubator and require you to have a viable business solution vetted by our panel of judges.

16. Can I attend events even if I am not a member?

a. Yes, just RSVP on our website OR the invitation, follow us on facebook and twitter to be always update about our events.
